The Black Dahlia is set in the 40s Los Angeles. Two detectives, Bleichert (Josh Hartnett) and his partner,
Lee Blanchard (Aaron Eckhart), have to investigate the mysterious death of Elizabeth Short, a young woman found murdered.
Bucky's girlfriend had ties to the murdered woman, and soon after that, he begins uncovering
conspiracy and corruption. A story of greed and obsession that revolves around the brutal murder
of a Hollywood actress that fascinated the nation in 1947 and remains unsolved even today.
Bleichert and Blanchard, are called to investigate this murder of the ambitious Betty Short better known as
The Black Dahlia. While Blanchard's growing preoccupation with the murder threatens his marriage,
Bleichert, finds himself attracted to another woman called Madeleine Linscott, the daughter of one of the
city's important families, who also has a connection to the murder victim.
