Phone Booth Movie Story - Synopsis. This thriller follows Stu Shepard, a low-rent media consultant, and is set entirely within and around a New York City phone booth. a serial killer (Sutherland) with a sniper rifle tells Stu that he'll be shot dead if he hangs up the phone. An act of violence near the booth draws the attention of the NYC police, who arrive backed with a small army of men. They believe that Stu, is the dangerous man with a gun. The senior officer on the scene, Captain Ramey, tries to talk to Stu and calm him down. Ramey And his team, the media circus that has flocked to the site and Stu's wife, Kelly, and his client girlfriend, Pamela are unaware that the caller has them all in his rifle sights. At the end of the afternoon Stu must now undertake a sudden and unexpected moral evolution. He is emotionally stripped naked by the caller. Stu's lies, half-truths, and obfuscation no longer matter. Instead, he must find his strength and attempt to outwit the caller, taking the game to an even more higher anxiety.
